註：8月21日(四)10:45~12:00由協助本校期刊英文修改—魏徹德老師授課，分享他這幾年在修改稿件中，常發現的問題。

(七) 課程簡介
Ÿ    本課程以教授英文論文寫作為主。
Ÿ    單元一、二可個別報名，每單元各4日課程，請報名學員8/18~8/21每日準時出席。
Ÿ    單元一：每日9:00-12:00從英文標點符號之基礎進行教學，並依序循句子、句子間、段落、結構組織導引學生批判性寫作之技巧。(人數限制150人)
Ÿ    單元二：每日14:00-17:00藉由小組成員之peer editing，觀摩他人之寫作習慣，並補強個人之寫作風格。(人數限制40人)
Ÿ    課程說明：
        Day 1
        John: Why is scientific writing important? How can you market your work? The key parts
             in a paper. The importance of a good title and writing the Abstract.
        Rose: Overview and patterns for writing sentence, with some practice exercises (full
             group and small groups).
        Afternoon: Introduction to exercise. Start on Introduction
        Day 2
        John: Introduction, Materials and methods and Results sections. Importance of
             appropriate figures.
        Rose: Capitalization, punctuation, active and passive voice, numbers and symbols. Some
             sections will include practice exercises.
        Afternoon: Write Materials and methods, perhaps start on Results, including figures and
                  tables.
        Day 3
        John: Discussion. Submitting your paper. Interacting with reviewers and editors and
             doing revisions. Final thoughts on writing. Examples from actual papers.
        Rose: The Writing Process (pre-writing, outlines, rough draft, abstract, revision, editing)
        Afternoon: Complete Results, begin Discussion.
        Day 4
        John: Figures and tables, data handling
        Rose: Transitions in paragraph writing, commonly misused words, document sources
             (including exercises).
        Rose and John: Personal philosophy and professionalism (a truly UNIQUE presentation)!
                     Written evaluation of the course.
        Afternoon: Complete Discussion, write Abstract. NOTE: Usually finish about
                  mid-afternoon on Day 4.
下午（單元二）課程的基本要求(人數限制40人)
Ÿ   準備一些已經可以準備發表的結果、仍然在寫作中的文章或已經完成的論文初稿來上課。

(九) 研習認證：校內教師將於會後每場次登錄教師研習積分1分，附醫醫療同仁每場次將登
               錄附醫CFD研習時數3小時。
(十) 講者簡介：
John Kastelic學、經歷
Ÿ   University of Wisconsin-Madison 獸醫科學博士
Ÿ   University of Calgary, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Production Animal Health主任及教授
Ÿ   共同主編（Theriogenology）、編審委員（Animal Reproduction Science）、副主編（Canadian Journal of Animal Science）
Ÿ   Kastelic教授為知名期刊之編輯，非常熱心幫忙亞洲地區科學家之投稿文章做修改，如有機會認識碰面，往後如有需要也能請他幫忙編修。
Rosa Maria Kastelic學、經歷
Ÿ   University of Saskatchewan政治學碩士
Ÿ   精通英文、德文、法文
Ÿ   在南北美洲、歐洲及亞洲各地舉辦過30多場2-4天之英文論文寫作工作坊，超過1,000多名的參加者受惠
